Sedalia police arrest a Sedalia man for a sex offender registration violation

At 1:14 Tuesday morning, Sedalia police were dispatched to a disturbance at a residence in the 400 block of Albright Court. Upon arrival, officers made contact with the male and female involved. A check through dispatch revealed the male suspect, identified as 27-year-old Henry Jackson of the residence, had an active warrant out of Sedgwick County, Kan. for a sex offender registration violation. Jackson was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail pending a $50,000 bond on the warrant and the filing of a fugitive from justice application.

Sedalia man charged with 2nd degree arson on suicide watch

Just after 11:00 Monday night, Sedalia police were called to the 1800 block of South Carr on the report of a missing person. During an investigation, the officers were informed there was a garage fire in the same area. After Sedalia Fire extinguished the fire, the officers learned the missing man had returned home. The police report states a further investigation revealed the 18-year-old missing man had caused the fire. The suspect was arrested, transported to the Pettis County Jail and placed on 24-hour hold pending further action. The police report also states the suspect was placed on suicide watch.

Chicago man arrested Tuesday night on a charge of animal abuse

Around 10:30 Tuesday night, Sedalia police arrested 18-year-old Jerry Jackson of Chicago Ill. on a charge of animal abuse. According to the police report, the victim and witnesses saw Jackson kick her cats. Jackson reportedly admitted the offense to officers, was arrested and taken to the Pettis County Jail where he was booked and released with a court date.

Traffic related arrests Tuesday morning for two drivers

Tuesday morning, Sedalia police arrested 29-year-old Cory Draper on a failure to appear warrant for driving while revoked. Bond on the warrant was set at $88.50 cash only.

43-year-old Donna Wirtz of Sedalia was arrested on a seat belt violation early Tuesday Morning. Her bond was set at $10 cash only.
