The following Sedalia Police crime reports are from the afternoon of April 3, 2013.

Attempted assault reported in the 1200 block of East 18th Tuesday 

At 12:35 Tuesday morning, Sedalia police were dispatched to a disturbance at a residence in the 1200 block of East 18th. Upon arrival, officers met with the male victim, who told them two male suspects had banged on his door, and when he opened it one of the suspects attempted to assault him with a long stick. The victim reportedly got the door closed before the suspect could injure him. The suspects then fled the scene. There was no information on the identity of the suspects in the police report.

Woman on of South Kentucky files a property damage complaint Tuesday

Around 9:00 Tuesday morning, a victim in the 1400 block of South Kentucky reported that someone sprayed yellow paint on her maroon colored 1998 Ford Taurus sometime overnight. There were no suspects at news time, and a damage estimate had not been made at the time of the police report.

The following felony cases were taken up on March 26 in Judge Koffman’s Court

Melissa Lamb of Sedalia, 27, was sentenced to five years in prison after a contested sentencing hearing.  The defendant pleaded guilty earlier this year to stealing and possession of methamphetamine, offenses stemming from a Dec. 4 shoplifting arrest.  The stealing offense was a felony because the defendant has three prior stealing convictions.

Henry SuttonIII of Florissant, 42, was fined $500 for felony driving while revoked.  The defendant was found guilty at a non-jury trial conducted Jan. 24.  The offense was a felony because the defendant has at least four prior convictions for various offenses.
