The following Sedalia Police crime reports are from the afternoon of Dec. 30, 2013.

Sedalia man arrested for assault and felony drug charges

At 3:20 Sunday afternoon, Sedalia police responded to a domestic disturbance in the 500 block of West 4th St. Following an investigation, 25-year-old Derek VanHook of Sedalia was arrested and taken to the Pettis County Jail, where he was placed on 24-hour hold pending formal charges of 2nd degree domestic assault and felony possession of marijuana.

Traffic stop results in drug related charges for a Sedalia man

Just before 2 a.m. Sunday morning, Sedalia police stopped a vehicle at Broadway and Limit on a traffic complaint. Upon contact with the driver, 21-year-old Bryan Hummel of Sedalia, the officer reportedly detected the odor of marijuana. A subsequent search of the vehicle revealed illegal drugs. Hummel was arrested and taken to the Pettis County Jail pending formal charges on drug related charges.

Citizen's call results in drunk driver's arrest

Around 1:20 Sunday morning, Sedalia police stopped a vehicle in the 1500 block of Thompson Blvd. The driver had been reported drunk by a citizen’s call. A field sobriety test revealed the driver, 26-year-old Charles Cypert of Sedalia, was intoxicated. Cypert was arrested and transported to the Pettis County jail where he was booked and released with a court date.

Warrensburg woman arrested on a warrant during a traffic stop

Sunday night, 18-year-old Alissa Bearce of Warrensburg was arrested on an active municipal warrant during a traffic stop. The police report states she was taken to the Pettis County Jail pending a $132 cash only bond.

Sedalia woman arrested this morning on a warrant

At 1:11 this morning, Sedalia police arrested 30-year-old Stephanie Curry of Sedalia on a failure to appear warrant out of the City of Sedalia. Bond was set at $88.50.

Early morning traffic stops nets man driving while suspended

Just before 1 a.m. this morning, Sedalia police arrested 29-year-old Christopher Butler of Sedalia during a traffic stop for driving while suspended.

Man arrested Sunday on a failure to appear warrant

Around 11:30 Sunday night, Sedalia police stopped a vehicle at Broadway and Harold. Following an investigation, officers arrested 46-year-old Raymond Bailey of Sedalia on a failure to appear warrant. Bailey was transported to the Pettis County Jail pending formal charges.

Theft reports filed with the Sedalia Police Department

On Friday, a victim in the 300 block of East St. Louis St. reported several firearms were stolen from his residence. There were no suspects.

At 6:33 Saturday morning, a victim in the 400 block of North Prospect reported the theft of $148 worth of prescription medication from his residence. The police report also states the victim reportedly required medical assistance and was taken to Bothwell Regional Health Center for treatment.
