Two reports of sexual assault and possible rape reported Sunday

The Sedalia Police Department investigated two sexual assault cases on Sunday that took place at the Buckner Apartments. According to the police report, a victim came to the Sedalia Police Station around 1 p.m. on Sunday afternoon and reported the sexual assault, but would not cooperate in the investigation. The second incident was reported to Sedalia Police who responded to Buckner Apartments around 6:30 Sunday evening. The victim in that case reportedly knows the suspect, and an investigation is ongoing.

Sedalia Police investigate a child abuse case

Just before 6:30 Sunday evening, Sedalia Police were dispatched to an apartment in the 400 block of East 7th Street in reference to a child abuse. Upon arrival, the complainant reported the child had been spanked and bitten by the mother, leaving bruises. Officers arrested 27-year-old Jessica Sue Ann Parker at her home and took her to the Pettis County Jail, where she was placed on 24-hour hold pending charges of abuse of a child and second degree endangering the welfare of a child. The police report also states the Child Abuse Hotline was called.

Sedalia Police assists Family Services Saturday night

Around 10 p.m. Saturday night, Sedalia Police assisted the Division of Family Services on an investigation in the 2500 block of Margaret Ave. Upon arrival, officers made contact with the mother of the children and her boyfriend. The police report states the adults were uncooperative, and Family Services decided to make a follow up visit at a later date.

Sedalia man arrested on domestic assault charges Sunday

At 1:11 Sunday morning, Sedalia Police responded to a residence in the 1000 Block of East 10th on a domestic assault complaint. Upon arrival, the complainant told the officers her husband had assaulted her. The police report states the woman had obvious injuries. The suspect, 28-year-old Calixto Alejo of the residence, was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail, where he was placed on 24-hour hold pending formal charges of 2nd degree domestic assault.

Vehicle stop Friday evening results in arrest for a passenger

Just before 7 p.m. Friday evening, Sedalia Police stopped a vehicle at East Broadway and Porter for equipment problems. A check on the occupants of the vehicle revealed that a passenger, 25-year-old Amy Wright of Sedalia, had an active Pettis County warrant. A search of the vehicle produced drug items. Wright was arrested and taken to the Pettis County Jail pending a $2500 bond on the warrant and three drug related charges.

Forgery suspect sought for writing and cashing a Sedalia man’s checks

Around 7:30 Saturday morning, a victim in the 300 block of East 2nd reported someone known to him forged his name on his checks and cashed them. The incident is being investigated.

Sedalia man arrested on Saline County Warrants Sunday morning

At 10 a.m. on Sunday, Sedalia Police responded to a residence in the 1100 block of South Lamine on a disturbance. During an investigation of the incident, officers found that 47-year-old Alvin Ray Norman Jr. had warrants out of Saline County. According to the police report, Norman had a probation violation warrant with a $1000 cash only bond and a child support warrant with a $5000 cash only bond. At the time of the police report, he was being held in the Pettis County jail pending those bonds.
