The following Sedalia Police crime reports are from the afternoon of Nov. 18, 2013.

Traffic stop Sunday results in drug related charges for a Sedalia man

Just after 6:30 Sunday evening, Sedalia police stopped a vehicle at 3rd and Park for a non-operating brake light. The police report states that when the officer made contact with the driver, the odor of marijuana was detected. During a subsequent search, the officer located a small amount of marijuana. Arrested at the scene was 22-year-old Andrew Byrd of Sedalia. Byrd was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail. The police report then states that jail staff located a larger amount of marijuana. At the time of the police report, Byrd was on 24-hour hold pending formal charges of possession of marijuana, tampering with evidence, introducing contraband to a jail facility and identification theft.

Rural Sedalia man arrested on multiple charges following a traffic stop

At 6:16 Friday evening, Sedalia police stopped a vehicle at 14th and Ohio with a driver who reportedly had no operator’s license. The police report states that a K9 dog alerted on the vehicle, and officers located a crystal substance, drug paraphernalia and a firearm in the vehicle. John Threlkeld, 38, of rural Sedalia was arrested and taken to the Pettis County Jail. He was placed on 24-hour hold pending formal charges of possession of a controlled substance, felon in possession of a firearm and driving while revoked.

Sedalia man arrested Friday on warrants and pending state fugitive charges

Around 3:30 Friday afternoon, Sedalia police arrested 42-year-old Shannon Jones of Sedalia on Pettis County and Cole Camp warrants. At the time of the police report, Jones was in the Pettis County jail pending a total of $5300 bond on the warrants. The police report also states he is on 24-hour hold pending a charge of fugitive from justice.

Lexington woman taken into custody at the Saline County line

Thursday afternoon, Sedalia police were dispatched to the Saline County line to take custody of a female subject from the Missouri State Highway Patrol. The suspect, identified as 25-year-old Jessica Quick of Lexington, was taken into custody and transported to the Pettis County Jail on an active failure to appear warrant out of the city of Sedalia. Bond on the warrant was set at $150 cash only.

Suspect arrested on a Sedalia warrant Thursday

On Thursday afternoon, 21-year Asia Jackson of Sedalia was arrested on a failure to appear warrant out of Sedalia in the 200 block of East 10th. Bond on the warrant was set at $88.50 cash only.

Sedalia man reports receiving a counterfeit check

On Saturday afternoon, a victim came to the Sedalia Police Department to report a counterfeit check he received. According to the victim, he deposited the check and the bank notified him it was counterfeit. There was no other information in the police report.

Friday a victim in the 1800 block of South Sneed reported a TV and XBOX stolen from his home.
