The following Sedalia Police crime reports and Missouri State Highway Patrol accident reports are from the afternoon of Aug. 20, 2013.

59-year-old Hughesville man in jail for driving while revoked

Around 5:00 Monday morning, Sedalia police stopped a vehicle in the 1600 block of East Broadway for no license plates. Upon contact with the driver, 59-year-old Gary Clark of Hughesville, he was also found to be revoked. At the time of the police report, Clark was on 24-hour hold in the Pettis County jail pending formal charges.

Female walker arrested on a Moniteau County warrant this morning

At 2:40 this morning, Sedalia police observed a female subject walking in the middle of the road in the area of 5th and Montgomery where a sidewalk is available. Upon contact with the woman, identified as 29-year-old Shannon Iman of Sedalia, she was found to have an active warrant out of Moniteau County for fraud. Iman was arrested and taken to the Pettis County Jail pending a $500 cash only bond.

Complainant finds a set of metal knuckles in their back yard

At 5:30 Monday evening, Sedalia police responded to a residence in the 2400 block of East 10th on found property. Upon arrival, the complainant reported she had found a set metal knuckles in the back yard of the residence after a subject ran through it the night before. The police report states officers had answered a disturbance call in the area at that time and several subjects ran through the area.

Fatality accident reported by the MSHP Sunday night in Henry County

At 8:45 Sunday night, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported a two-vehicle fatality accident on Missouri Highway 13 at Route “Z” in Henry County. The accident reportedly occurred as the 1999 Volkswagon driven by 67-year-old Marguerite Schmidt of Deepwater tried to make a left turn and struck a 2013 Toyota Tundra driven by 56-year-old Edwin Crawford of Liberty traveling in the left lane. The Schmidt vehicle then left the roadway and crossed into the southbound lanes of Highway 13, coming to rest partially in those lanes. Schmidt suffered fatal injuries in the crash and was transported to Golden Valley Hospital where she was pronounced deceased. Crawford and his passenger, 38-year-old Nicole Crawford Slaughter, also of Liberty, received minor injuries and were taken to Golden Valley Hospital for treatment.

One vehicle accident injures a Holden woman Monday morning

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported a one-vehicle accident on Missouri Highway 58 four tenths of a mile east of Southwest 1451 in Johnson County at 8:15 Monday morning. According to the report, the accident happened when the driver of a 1993 BMW, 31-year-old Jacqueline Akins of Holden fell asleep, causing her to lose control of her vehicle. Akins then reportedly over-corrected, traveled off the roadway, struck a ditch, continued through the ditch and traveled off an embankment. The vehicle then became airborne, overturned and landed in a creek on the driver’s side.
