The following Sedalia Police crime reports and Missouri State Highway Patrol accident reports are from the afternoon of Thursday, Feb. 27, 2014.

Kansas City driver and Sedalia passenger arrested during a traffic stop Wednesday

At 5:36 Wednesday evening, Sedalia Police stopped a vehicle at 7th and Harrison with a passenger known to have warrants. Upon contact with the driver, 31-year-old Vincent Shane Barriere Jr. of Kansas City, he was found to be suspended. At the time of the police report, he was on 24-hour hold in the Pettis County Jail pending formal charges. According to dispatch, a passenger identified as 22-year-old Nichole Lipe of Sedalia had two active warrants. One of the warrants was for a probation violation and the other was for failure to appear on a misdemeanor charge. She was arrested and taken to the Pettis County jail pending $7000 bond.

Tire blowout causes a vehicle to crash in Lafayette County

Around 10:40 Tuesday morning, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported a one-vehicle accident on westbound I-70 just East of Route “T” in Lafayette County. The accident occurred as the 2000 Chevrolet driven by 36-year-old Amine Youssef of Belleville, Ill. blew a tire, causing the vehicle to run off the roadway, and strike a post. Youssef suffered minor injuries. He was transported to I-70 Medical Center by EMS for treatment.
