Sedalia Police reports 8-26-19

Sedalia Police arrested 35-year-old Waylon M. Burns at Applebee's, 3320 W. Broadway, for 3rd degree assault after he allegedly shoved someone up against a wall several times inside the restaurant on Friday night just after 11:30 p.m. Burns was taken into custody and placed on a 24-hour hold, pending the filing of formal charges.


 

On Saturday, Aug. 24, a man reported someone damaged his soft-top Jeep in the 500 block of S. Barrett. A window was cut and the Jeep was broken into, causing $100 of damage before an alarm sounded. A search of the area yielded no clues.


 

On Saturday, Aug. 24, a woman reported damage to four vehicles parked in the 200 block of South Stewart, one of which also had a flat tire. The vehicle had scratches down the driver's side. Each vehicle was estimated to have $1,000 of damage. There are no suspects.


 

On Saturday, Aug. 24, a man said he left his yellow racing bike unattended for a few minutes in front of his residence. When he returned, it was gone. There are no suspects.


 

On Friday, Aug. 23, a woman reported that her vehicle was damaged while it was parked at work at 1500 Waterloo Drive. The hit-and-run driver caused front-end damage to her vehicle.


 

On Friday, Aug. 23, a man reported that he was working in his back yard, next to the alley in the 1700 block of Engineer. He went to the store for a drink at 3:56 p.m., and when he returned at 4:06 p.m. his tools, valued at $80, were gone.


 

On Friday, Aug. 23, a man reported that his 2014 Chevy Silverado was damaged by a hit-and-run driver overnight while it was parked in the 1000 block of W. 7th. Pieces of the suspect vehicle were left behind, according to the report. There are no suspects.


 

On Thursday, Aug. 22, a man reported right rear damage that was done to his 2018 Chevy pickup while it was parked in the 1800 block of South Warren.


 

On Thursday, Aug. 22, A woman reported a hit-and-run that occurred Aug. 20-21 in the 900 block of Westwood, causing $5,000 of damage to her car. There are no suspects.


 

On Wednesday, Aug. 21, a woman reported that overnight someone entered her vehicle and stole her prescription medications, as well as her debit and ID card in the 100 block of Southwest Boulevard Court.


 

On Wednesday, Aug. 21, a woman reported someone caused scratch marks down the driver's side of her car in the 1600 block of West 4th while it was parked in her driveway Aug. 19-20.


 

On Wednesday, Aug. 21 around 11:20 p.m., a woman reported a hit-and-run involving a bicycle rider who hit her vehicle at Main and Grand, then left the scene. The collision caused $500 of damage to her car.


 

On Aug. 22, Sedalia Police conducted a subject check at American Inn, 1217 South Limit, after housekeeping reported a subject who stayed past the 11 a.m. check-out time. A man was found laying on the bed upon entry. A computer check revealed he was wanted on a Municipal FTA warrant. There was also marijuana located in the motel room.


 

On Aug. 22, Sedalia Police conducted a warrant check in the 1500 block of E. 7th. 38-year-old Andy H. Schulz was found to be wanted for 3rd degree domestic assault. He was taken into custody and transported to the Pettis County Jail on a $5,000 cash or surety bond.
