Sedalia Police arrested 41-year-old Sergey Nikolayevich Pokitko after he allegedly started a fire in the back yard in the 800 block of Brentwood Avenue late Thursday night and burned his wife's belongings while she was attending a family gathering on Thanksgiving. Pokitko was taken to the Pettis County Jail just before midnight and charged with 4th degree domestic assault and knowingly burning or exploding.


 

32-year-old James Wesley Cramer was arrested and charged with 2nd degree property damage at 1:24 a.m. Thursday after he allegedly kicked in a door, damaging the frame and molding in the 700 block of W. 2nd. he fled the scene, but later returned and was arrested. Cramer was also wanted on a Pettis County warrant with a bond amount of $254.50.


 

Sedalia Police responded to a trespassing call at 350 McAnally Court at 1:44 a.m. Thursday. The suspect, 29-year-old Christopher Edward Demus, was wanted on three Miller County warrants according to a report. He was taken to the Pettis County Jail with no bond. No trespassing charges were pursued.

 


 

Brett Michael Hocking of Sedalia was arrested at 23rd and Missouri just before 7 p.m. Thursday after a traffic stop. He was wanted on a Saline County warrant. Hocking was taken to the Pettis County Jail.


 

On Thanksgiving night just before midnight, Sedalia Police attempted a traffic stop on a silver Pontiac Grand Am at 6th and Moniteau, but the vehicle failed to stop. A pursuit began. The vehicle later crashed and the suspect fled on foot. No arrests have yet been made.


 

47-year-old Angela M. Hughey of Tipton was arrested by Sedalia Police after conducting a traffic stop for speeding in the 1700 block of West Main at 11:10 a.m. Thursday. The officer detected the odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle and a search revealed that the driver was in possession of marijuana. A Municipal summons was issued with a court date of Dec. 18.


 

Sedalia Police arrested 20-year-old Andrew Justin Max Lange of Sedalia at Broadway and Porter around 8:30 a.m. Thanksgiving morning. He was wanted on a Municipal warrant for no operator's license. Lange was taken to the Pettis County Jail on a $100 cash bond.


 

Sedalia Police conducted a traffic stop at 2000 South Limit Thursday around 3:30 p.m. and discovered that 41-year-old Judith Mary Copper of Sedalia was driving whlie revoked. Copper was taken to the Pettis County Jail, where she was booked and released with a court date.


 

Sedalia Police responded to a house fire at 412 North Grand Wednesday morning at 3:27 a.m. Residents were evacuated safely, and the Red Cross was contacted.


 

A man who owns a contracting company reported that a lock on his "Job Box" was cut, and several tools were stolen at Liberty Park, where he was working on new shelter units there. Jason Oliver noticed the missing tools when he returned to Kansas on Wednesday, the report said.

32-year-old Jacob N. Woolery of Sedalia was arrested by Sedalia Police after a traffic stop at 15th and Moniteau Wednesday around 7:15 p.m. According to a report, drugs were observed in plain view. The vehicle was searched and large quantities of marijuana and marijuana edibles, as well as other items of drug sales, were found. The driver was arrested for delivery of a controlled substance.


 

On Wednesday, Sedalia Police responded to the 900 block of E. 4th at 2:39 a.m. Wednesday on a disturbance. According to a report, the caller said a previous boyfriend refused to leave the residence after being told to do so, and was banging on the back door. 37-year-old Brent Allen Hunt of Warrensburg was arrested. A computer check revealed he was wanted on a Pettis County warrant with a $3500 cash or surety bond.


 

37-year-old Cassandra L. Brister of Sedalia was arrested after a traffic stop at 700 W. 24th around 10:30 p.m. Tuesday. According to a report, Brister was a passenger in the vehicle and was wanted on a Johnson County warrant for driving while suspended. She was taken to the Pettis County Jail on a $400 cash or surety bond with a court date TBA.


 

Sedalia Police conducted a warrant check at 7th and Missouri Tuesday at 7 p.m. and found that 42-year-old Juan Ubaldo-Romero was Sedalia was wanted on a Pettis County misdemeanor warrant with a $2500 cash or surety bond. he was taken to the Pettis County Jail.


 

Sedalia Police conducted a traffic stop at 20th and Stewart around 9:30 p.m. Tuesday and found that 21-year-old Jozlan N. Hollaway of Marshall was wanted on a Pettis County warrant. She was taken to the Pettis County Jail on a $300 bond.


 

On Tuesday night, Sedalia Police took a property damage report in the 1100 block of E. Broadway. According to the report, someone attempted to gain entry to a vehicle by pulling on a back window, causing $600 of damage. There are no suspects.
