Sedalia Police were called to the 1600 block of Heck Avenue Wednesday night just before 9 p.m. on a sexual misconduct call involving a juvenile. Investigation led to the arrest of 41-year-old Joseph Henry Hendrix of Sedalia. He was charged with 3rd degree child molestation and 2nd degree sexual misconduct. Hendrix was taken to the Pettis County Jail on a 24-hour hold.


 

Sedalia Police responded to the 1500 block of West Broadway Friday at 12:09 a.m. on a disturbance call. A juvenile was taken to Bothwell Regional Health Center for evaluation after a physical altercation occurred.


Sedalia Police were contacted by the Bainbridge Island Police Department (Washington) and the Middletown Police Department (New York) with a request to assist in a scam investigation. It is believed the suspect lives in Sedalia in the 2400 block of West 11th, and involves the theft of a large amount of money. Investigation is under way.

Sedalia Police conducted a traffic stop near 3rd and Massachusetts on Wednesday around 7 p.m. and discovered that the driver, 39-year-old Andy Hoyt Schultz of Sedalia, was wanted on a Pettis County felony FTA warrant. He was also found to be in possession of marijuana. A subsequent search of the vehicle yielded methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. Schultz was taken into custody. He was also charged with delivery of a controlled substance.


 

On Tuesday at 8 a.m., the Sedalia Police Department received a referral from the Pettis County Children's Division reference a sexual assault involving juveniles that occurred in September in the 2200 block of South Grand.


 

Management at Casey's General Store, 3050 South Limit, reported that a suspect stole a bottle of McCormick vodka from the store at 5:46 a.m. Thursday. License plate info of the suspect vehicle was provided to police.


 

On Thursday, Sedalia Police seized drug paraphernalia that was found in the 400 North Prospect inside a resident's room while they were at the hospital, according to a report. The paraphernalia was scheduled to be destroyed.
