Sedalia Police reports 1-12-18

On Wednesday afternoon, Sedalia Police arrested 57-year-old Kenneth A. Smith of Sedalia after police were notified he was inside the Sedalia Wal-Mart, 3201 W. Broadway. Smith was wanted on three Pettis County warrants totaling $25,000, and a $150 Municipal warrant. He was also accused of shoplifting by attempting to return items he allegedly stole from the store earlier.

On Wednesday afternoon, Sedalia Police arrested 36-year-old Mark Randyl Nelson on five charges in the 800 block of E. 10th. He was charged with 1st Degree Tampering With a Motor Vehicle, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Possession of a Synthetic Narcotic. He was wanted on Benton and Pettis County warrants with a total bond amount of $2,030.50. According to a report, someone loaned their car to Nelson to go purchase cigarettes and he never returned. SPD dispatched a try to locate on the vehicle and Nelson was later located and arrested.

On Thursday at 229 a.m., 37-year-old William Paul Albin of Sedalia was taken into custody at 17th and Harrison after Sedalia Police conducted a traffic stop on a black Chevy passenger vehicle. Albin was wanted for Driving While Revoked. During the stop, the SPD's K-9 unit was deployed, which alerted to the presence of a narcotic odor coming from the vehicle. A subsequent search revealed a handgun. (The driver is a convicted felon and unable to legally possess a firearm). Albin was taken to the Pettis County Jail on a 24-hour hold, pending the filing of formal charges, including Unlawful Possession of a Concealable Weapon.

A Warsaw couple was arrested at 4th and Montgomery at 10:52 p.m. Thursday night after Sedalia Police conducted a traffic stop on a white Chevy Corsica for equipment violation. The driver, 31-year-old Jesse A. Parrott was charged with Driving While Suspended. While the passenger, 29-year-old Lisa A. Santillan, was wanted on a Green County warrant.

On Wednesday night around 9:30 p.m., 44-year-old Todd Christopher Streb of Sedalia was arrested after Sedalia Police conducted a traffic stop near Cork n' Bottle, 3806 E. Broadway. He was wanted on a Pettis County warrant for forgery. Streb was taken to the Pettis County Jail on a $3,500 cash or surety bond.

Sedalia Police took a property damage report at the Katy Depot, 600 E. 3rd, on Wednesday morning, reference a caboose being vandalized with graffiti.

Sedalia Police arrested 21-year-old Deandre A. Laney of Sedalia, in the 800 block of E. Broadway, around 10:30 p.m. Thursday on a no-bond, felony Benton County warrant for Possession of a Controlled Substance. He was taken to the Pettis County Jail.

On Wednesday evening, Sedalia Police arrested 39-year-old Adrien Jamil Crutchfield of Sedalia on a no-bond parole violation in the 700 block of E. Broadway for drug trafficking. He was taken to the Pettis County Jail.

On Thursday, William H. Howe, III, 27, Sedalia, was charged with resisting arrest in the 400 block of New York and taken to the Pettis County Jail.

On Thursday afternoon at Wal-Mart, 3201 W. Broadway, a customer attempted to pass a counterfeit $100 bill. When confronted, the suspect tried to pay with different cash, but then immediately left the store after being told that Sedalia Police was being contacted. The suspect had not yet been contacted by police at the time of the report.

Sedalia Police arrested 23-year-old Jacob Dylan Paxton in the 500 block of S. Massachusetts at 2:04 a.m. Thursday after officers responded to a motor vehicle that crashed into a tree. Paxton was located around the corner and found to be intoxicated, according to a report.He was taken to the Pettis County Jail and charged with Driving While Intoxicated. He now has a Feb. 21 court date.

Sedalia Police responded to a medical call at Murphy, USA, 3203 W. Broadway, at 12:58 a.m. Friday. When the officer ran his information through the computer, it was discovered that 38-year-old John Michael Woodard, Jr., of Sedalia, was wanted on a Municpal warrant. After being taken to Bothwell Regional Health Center for treatment, Woodard was transported to the Pettis County Jail.

And on Thursday, Pettis County Sheriff's deputies took a trespassing report from Sharita Casey in the 1500 block of Crestview Drive in Pettis County.
