Sedalia Police reports 7-12-19

On Tuesday, July 9, Sedalia Police located a vehicle in the 1300 block of S. Moniteau that was reported stolen out of Kansas City, Kan. The vehicle was towed from the scene.


 

Sedalia Police conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle with a tail light out in the 2000 block of South Limit on Monday around 10:10 p.m. A computer check revealed that 31-year-old Myla A. Bass-Evans was driving while suspended. She was taken to the Pettis County Jail, where she was booked and released with an August 14 court date.


 

On Monday, July 8, a woman reported that two bikes were stolen from her yard sometime between 11 p.m. Sunday and 3 p.m. Monday.


 

On Monday, July 8, a girls 10-speed gray Schwinn bicycle was found at Jiffy Stop, 2801 W. Broadway. The bike was placed into found property.


 

On Monday, July 8, someone found two sets of keys in the grass next to the playground at Liberty Park, 1500 W. 3rd.


 

On Monday, July 8, Sedalia Police arrested 25-year-old Mark Allen Brookfelt for shoplifting at Walmart, 3201 W. Broadway. He was taken to the Pettis County Jail on a 24-hour hold.


 

On Monday, July 8, police took a property damage reported in the 600 block of E. 17th from a man who said someone damaged his truck's rear window, causing $500 of damage. The incident occurred sometime between July 6 and 8.


 

On Monday, July 8, police took a theft report from a woman who said her semi-automatic firearm, valued at $240, was stolen from the 1200 block of W. 11th sometime between 8 a.m. Sunday and 2 p.m. Monday.


 

On Sunday, July 7, a man reported the theft of his red 2009 Dodge Caliber from the 1600 block of W. 16th.


 

On Sunday, July 7, Sedalia Police conducted a traffic stop on a Chevy bearing plates that belonged to a Pontiac at 2nd and Missouri. A computer check revealed that 27-year-old Marquoi D. Staten of Sedalia was wanted on a Boonville warrant. He was taken into custody and transported to the Pettis County Jail on a $250 cash bond.


 

On Sunday, July 7, Sedalia Police took a forgery report from a victim who said that in August of 2013, a suspect opened an account in their name through Sprint. Since then, a total of $1,300 in unpaid fines have accumulated on the account.


 

On Saturday, July 6, Sedalia Police took a report in the 2300 block of W. 3rd. According to the report, two Schwinn bicycles were stolen and a red child's bike was left behind.


 

On Saturday, July 6 at 2:35 a.m., Sedalia Police conducted a prisoner transfer at Highway 65 and Whiteman Road. Benton County delivered 23-year-old Kayla Ann Rieves to Sedalia authorities. She was wanted on a Municipal warrant with a $150 cash bond. She now has an August 7 court date.


 

On Saturday, July 6, Sedalia Police conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle with a license violation at Broadway and State Fair Blvd. A subsequent search of the vehicle yielded three containers with a white crystal substance which later tested positive for meth. Drug paraphernalia was also located. A passenger in the vehicle, 33-year-old Christene R. Davis of Bunceton was arrested and taken to the Pettis County Jail.


 

On Friday, July 5, Sedalia Police arrested 33-year-old Joshua Robert Oliver after stopping a maroon Dodge westbound on 24th at Grand. Oliver was wanted on two Urbana warrants for traffic offenses. He was taken to the Pettis County Jail on a $200 cash bond.


 

On Friday, July 5 at 5:31 a.m., Sedalia Police conducted a traffic stop at Broadway and Ruth Ann Drive on a vehicle with no headlights. A computer check revealed that 48-year-old Michael Taylor was driving while revoked. He was taken to the Pettis County Jail on a 24-hour hold.


 

On Friday, July 5 at 2:07 a.m., at Broadway and Mitchell, Sedalia Police conducted a traffic stop. 23-year-old Heather Renee Higgins was wanted on a Municipal warrant with a $114 cash bond. She was taken to the Pettis County Jail with an August 14 court date.


 

On Thursday, July 4, Sedalia Police arrested 39-year-old Kevin Allen Clark of Hughesville at Break Time, 808 E. Broadway. Clark was wanted on a probation and parole warrant, and was also in possession of meth and drug paraphernalia. He was taken to the Pettis County Jail on a 24-hour hold.


 

A woman stole a $119 security camera off the shelf and left without paying at Menard's, 4400 Wisconsin, on July 4. A suspect has been identified, but was not yet located for questioning at the time of the report.


 

24-year-old Zachary T. Fisher of Sedalia was arrested for possession of meth after police conducted a subject check at Clarendon Road and the Katy Trail on July 4. Fisher was taken to the Pettis County Jail on a 24-hour hold.


 

On July 4, Sedalia Police took a report from a man who said his license plates were stolen while his vehicle was parked on the SFCC campus, 3201 W. 16th, three weeks ago.


 

42-year-old Lisa M. Harris of Sedalia was arrested by Sedalia Police on a Pettis County warrant for harassing communications on July 3 in the 400 block of E. Boonville. Harris was taken to the Pettis County Jail on a $1,500 cash or surety bond.


 

On June 30, a woman reported several items missing from her yard in the 500 block of E. 13th.
