Sedalia Police reports 3-5-18
On Sunday evening, Sedalia Police arrested 22-year-old Wayne Andrew Gravitt of Sedalia on a Pettis County warrant for burglary. He was taken to the Pettis County Jail on a $55,000 cash or surety bond. His court date is to be announced.
On Sunday at 1:42 a.m., Sedalia Police arrested 33-year-old Nicholas Eugene Shull of Sedalia, in the 1800 block of S. Kentucky after officers conducted a warrant check. Shull was wanted on a Lafayette County warrant. He was taken to the Pettis County Jail on a $1798.50 cash bond. He now has a court date of March 28.
Sedalia Police arrested 40-year-old James Robert Portis, III, of Sedalia for Driving While Suspended after a traffic stop at 10th and Ingram was conducted on a Ford SUV bearing plates belonging to a Chevy at 10:22 p.m. Sunday night. Portis was taken to the Pettis County Jail, where he was booked and released.
Devyn C. Welch, 23, homeless, and Shawn Bradley Bosworth, 35, Sedalia, were both arrested for shoplifting at the Sedalia WalMart, 3201 W. Broadway, at 9:12 p.m. Saturday. According to a report, the two were stopped after stealing $154.80 from the business. The items were returned and both suspects were taken to the Pettis County Jail, where they were booked and released.
Sedalia Police arrested Bryon Alfred Guider, Jr., 32, of Sedalia, for Driving While Revoked after a traffic stop on a Mercury at Welch and Saline for speeding at 11:33 p.m. Saturday. He was taken to the Pettis County Jail, where he was booked and released.
Sedalia Police arrested 35-year-old April Dawn Geiler of Sedalia on a Muncipal warrant after officers responded to a disturbance in the 1100 block of E. 15th at 9:47 p.m. Sunday. Geiler was taken to the Pettis County Jail on a $50 bond. She now has a March 14 court date.
Sedalia Police arrested 26-year-old Alexander Scott Hoose of Otterville after a traffic stop on a red Chevy truck with expired temp tags, and for no driver's side mirror. Hoose was the passenger in the vehicle. He was allegedly in possession of Hydrocodone, marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Hoose was taken to the Pettis County Jail.
On Sunday morning, Sedalia Police arrested 21-year-old Cheyenne S.D. Smith of Sedalia after a traffic stop at Broadway and Quincy. According to a report, the officer noticed a strong odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. A probable cause search was conducted and a baggie of marijuana, drug paraphernalia and an open container of alcohol was located. Smith was taken to the Pettis County Jail with a May 2 court date.
