Sedalia Police conducted a warrant check on a subject after receiving a tip on Friday morning. 28-year-old Anthony Quinn Smith was located I the 500 block of S. Barrett. A computer check revealed Smith was wanted on three Arkansas warrants, two of them were no bond, the other had a $100,950 cash bond. Smith was arrested and taken to the Pettis County Jail. He was also charged with being a fugitive from justice.


 

On Friday night around 10:40, Sedalia Police arrested 54-year-old Ronald J. Blum for felony 3rd degree domestic assault in the 1600 block of W. 3rd. Blum was taken to the Pettis County Jail.


 

Sedalia Police responded to a domestic disturbance in the 900 block of E. 14th just before 6 a.m, Saturday morning and arrested 42-year-old Cecil Dwight Henry, II. The victim said her boyfriend punched and choked her after arguing over $25. The suspect was later located and arrested. Henry was charged with 2nd degree domestic assault and transported to the Pettis County Jail on a 24-hour hold.


 

On May 22 at 1:13 a.m., Sedalia Police responded to the 1800 block of South Park on a disturbance. After investigation, 19-year-old Kadar Mathew Geer was located and arrested and charged with abuse of a child and 4th degree domestic abuse. According to a report, Geer is the father of the child. Charges were submitted to the prosecutor.


 

Sedalia Police arrested 39-year-old Travis Eugene Ballew in the 1200 block of W. 11th around 10:40 p.m. Saturday night. He was charged with 3rd degree domestic assault and transported to the Pettis County Jail.


 

On May 22, Sedalia Police responded to a disturbance call at 15th and Kentucky just after 1 p.m. 36-year-old Durayl T. Vann was arrested after a computer check revealed he was wanted on a Daviess County FTA warrant. Vann was taken to the Pettis County Jail on a $1,500 cash or surety bond.


 

Sedalia Police responded to a structure fire at 701 W. 4th at 10:45 p.m. May 22. According to a report, arson is suspected, and suspect information was gathered.


 

Sedalia Police arrested 35-year-old James Campbell at Woods East, 701 E. Broadway, after conducting a warrant check. Campbell was wanted on a Saline County warrant with a $10,000 cash bond and full US extradition. Campbell was transported to the Pettis County Jail, awaiting extradition.


 

Sedalia Police responded to the 1800 block of S. Sneed on a child sex crime report on May 23. According to the report, explicit photos of an underage girl were distributed through Instagram.


 

On Saturday at 10:52 p.m., Sedalia Police responded to a call of a burglary in progress at Park Avenue Salon, 1111 W. 10th. According to a report, a witness heard glass breaking and saw two subjects run from the scene. Investigation revealed there was forced entry at the business, and a quantity of cash was taken.


 

Sedalia Police conducted a warrant check in the 400 block of E. 7th on May 20. 48-year-old Shannon E. Demshick was found to be wanted on a Moniteau County warrant. She was also found to be in possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Demshick was taken to the Pettis County Jail.


 

On May 21, Sedalia Police took a report from a woman in the 300 block of W. 3rd who said someone used her Dominos Pizza account to make several unauthorized online purchases of $127.82 from Minnesota. There is one suspect, but the complainant does not wish to pursue charges.


 

On May 15, Sedalia Police conducted a traffic stop at Daryl Drive and Thompson Blvd., on a creme-colored 2006 Mitsubishi Galant with its front plate not properly attached. The vehicle also had a shattered windshield, the report said. According to a report, the officer detected the odor of marijuana, and a probable cause search revealed illegal drugs in the vehicle. 22-year-old Kade Spencer Jones was arrested on four drug charges and transported to the Pettis County Jail.


 

On May 25, Sedalia Police took a report from Kenneth Dale Leiter in the 900 block of S. Grand. According to the report, he said he saw a suspect next to his vehicle, then he ran off. Leiter later noticed two of his tires were slashed. The cost to replace was $250 per tire.


 

Sedalia Police responded to a burglary call at 305 E. 2nd on Sunday night just before midnight. According to a report, police found three people inside, and ordered them out. One of the subjects, 33-year-old Holly L. Hoskins, previously lived at that address, but was evicted. The homeowner later confirmed it. Hoskins was taken into custody, taken to the Pettis County Jail and charged with 1st degree trespassing.


 

Sedalia Police checked on a man sitting in a vehicle at 810 E. Broadway on Sunday evening. Investigation revealed 22-year-old Daylin R. Reed was in possession of methamphetamine, alprazolan, and marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Reed was taken into custody and transported to the Pettis County Jail.


 

While on patrol, a Sedalia Police officer spotted a person matching the description from a disturbance call earlier in the day on May 23. A computer check of the person, 31-year-old Alexander A. Swain, revealed she was not the person they were looking for, but was wanted on a felony Saline County warrant with a $10,000 cash or surety bond, and a misdemeanor Carroll County warrant with a $3,500 bond. Swain was taken into custody and transported to the Pettis County Jail.


 

A woman reported she was grabbed from behind while walking through an alleyway near 11th and Quincy on May 23 around 9:45 p.m. According to the report, the woman kicked the suspect, described as a tall, slender male, then ran the rest of the way home.


 

Sedalia Police took a property damage report in the 300 block of W. 7th on May 20. According to the report, the victim said a verbal argument took place there, and then the suspect broke the victim's TV, then later dented his vehicle. The suspect has since been identified and charges were filed with the prosecutor.


 

The Missouri State Highway Patrol arrested 42-year-old Nathan S. McDonald of Sedalia at 1:54 a.m. May 27 in Johnson County. He was wanted on a misdemeanor warrant out of Blue Springs and was taken to the Johnson County Jail.


 

The Missouri State Highway Patrol arrested 29-year-old John A. Miller of Sweet Springs at 8:46 p.m. May 27 in Lafayette County for DWI. He was taken to the Concordia Jail, where he was booked and released.


 

The Missouri State Highway Patrol arrested 18-year-old Jorge Rochin of Sedalia at 9:33 p.m. May 26 in Pettis County. He was wanted on a felony Taney County warrant and taken to the Pettis County Jail.


 

Pettis County deputies arrested Lawrence Joseph Larose of the 500 block of South Park on May 24 for violation of an ex-parte.


 

Pettis County deputies arrested Reginald Gay for driving while suspended on May 24.
