Sedalia Police arrested Harvey Townsend, 59, at 4:21 a.m. Sunday after a traffic stop on a silver Ford at Missouri and Pettis and charged him with Driving While Revoked and Identity Theft. According to the report, he provided police with a fake ID. Townswend was also wanted on an Arkansas parole violation and a Pettis County warrant as well as being a fugitive from justice. He was taken to the Pettis County Jail on a 24-hour hold with a $5,000 cash or surety bond.


 

On Friday evening, Sedalia Police attempted to conduct a traffic stop at Broadway and Kentucky after a car was observed speeding east on Broadway. Police caught up with Daniel Chmall Turner, 48, in the 1200 block of S. Ohio and charged him with speeding, resisting arrest, careless driving and Driving While Suspended. He was taken to the Pettis County Jail.


 

On Aug. 29, Stepan Garnik reported a hit-and-run that occurred at the Railroad tracks at Main and Ohio at 8:39 a.m. . According to the report, Garnik was stopped at the tracks on the north side when another vehicle hit him from behind. Garnik exited his vehicle and began taking pictures of the suspect as he drove away. The suspect claimed he was leaving to get his insurance information, but never came back. The incident caused $400 of damage to the victim's vehicle. There is one suspect in the case.


 

On Saturday, Sedalia Police arrested Justice C. Kendrick, 23, after Sedalia Police responded to a 911 call in the 600 block of E. 13th. According to the report, officers heard the male victim screaming upon arrival. After police made forced entry, they found the suspect was holding the male to the ground. Kendrick was arrested and taken to the Pettis County Jail. She was charged with 4th Degree Domestic Assault and 2nd Degree Kidnapping.


 

Ronald Dean Barker, 60, was arrested at 16th and Harrison at 4:28 a.m. Saturday for Driving While Intoxicated (persistent offender), Stealing and Possession of a Synthetoic Narcotic after a traffic stop on an orange Chevy after improper lane use at 16th and Vermont. He was taken to the Pettis County Jail.


 

Denise G. Speer, 50, Independence, was arrested on a drug-related warrant out of Henry County at 2401 W. Broadway on Saturday. Speer was also charged with Possession of Methamphetamine and Drug Paraphernalia after police were called on a disturbance. Speer was taken to the Pettis County Jail on a $1,000 bond.


 

On Sunday, Angela Latrice Grant reported a burglary that occurred sometime over the weekend in the 500 block of S. Prospect. According to the report, someone broke into her house and stole a large TV and also $3,000 of Jordan shoes.


 

On Friday night, Sedalia Police arrested Mark Edward Hankins, 57, on two Greene County warrants at 701 E. Broadway. Hankins was taken to the Petis County Jail on a $1,000 cash or surety bond. He now has a Sept. 14 court date.


 

On Friday at Main and Grand, Sedalia Police arrested Derrick James Seeley, 26, Sedalia, on two Pettis County warrants totaling $2,000. He now has a Sept. 12 court date.


 

Juan Zacarios Ubaldo, 18, Sedalia, was arrested for 2nd Degree Kidnapping after Sedalia Police received a report from a female who said Ubaldo offered to give her ride home from a party Sunday night in the 600 block of Wilkerson. According to the report, the suspect did not take the female home, but instead drove around in an area unfamiliar to the victim. She eventually was able to get away from the suspect and contact police. Officers later identified and located Ubaldo. He was taken into custody and held at the Pettis County on a 24-hour hold.
