The following Sedalia Police crime reports are from the morning of Oct. 22, 2013.

Suspect approaches students at the Middle School for illegal purposes

On Friday morning, an Assistant Principal at the Sedalia Middle School notified the Sedalia Police that a suspect had approached some students and attempted to involve them in illegal activities. The students reportedly did not know the suspect. There was no other information at news time.

Female who slapped a man for an inappropriate remark is arrested on domestic assault warrant

At 8:55 Friday night, Sedalia police responded to a residence in the 400 block of North Prospect on a domestic assault. Upon arrival, a female suspect identified as 24-year-old Jennifer Soles of the residence admitted she slapped a male victim when he made an inappropriate remark. A check through dispatch revealed Soles had a Pettis County warrant for domestic assault. Soles was arrested and taken to the Pettis County jail and placed on 24-hour hold pending a $5000 bond.

Sedalia man arrested Friday evening for assault on a female subject

Around 5:00 Friday evening, Sedalia police responded to a residence in the 1100 block of West 11th. During an investigation, the officers determined 24-year-old Rusty Hayworth of the residence had assaulted a female victim. He was arrested and transported to the Pettis County jail, and placed on 24-hour hold pending charges of 3rd degree assault.

Sedalia man arrested for stealing at the Walmart Store

Just after 12:30 Friday afternoon, Sedalia police responded to the Walmart Store on a theft complaint. Upon arrival officers made contact with a suspect, 20-year-old Jonathon Campbell of Sedalia, who admitted he had concealed items under his clothes after removing them from their packaging. Campbell was arrested and taken to the Pettis County jail where he was booked and released with a court date.

Thefts and vandalism reported to the police department

On Friday, a female victim reported her purse was stolen from her vehicle while it was parked at the Lowe’s Store. The purse contained credit cards and personal information.

On Sunday a victim in the 1100 block of South Harding reported a tire valued at $80 was slashed on her vehicle sometime overnight.

Saturday a victim in the 200 block of South Grand reported a washer and driver had been stolen from outside her residence in the 200 block of South Grand. There were no suspects for these crimes at news time.
