On Wednesday (Feb 7), Sedalia Police were dispatched to Russell Stover, located at 1021 S. Limit, for a reported burglary. There was damage to the drive-thru window and a search of the building revealed that items were missing. The total damage and loss was placed at approximately $700. There are no suspects at this time.


On Wednesday (Feb 7), Sedalia Police conducted a traffic stop near W. 16th St. and S. Quincy Ave for a vehicle with no registration. The suspect also had a suspended license, according to the report. Officers arrested and transported 35-year old Casey M. Hopkins to the Pettis County Jail, where she was booked and released.


On Tuesday afternoon (Feb 6), Sedalia Police responded to Wal-Mart, located at 3201 W. Broadway, for a shoplifter that asset protection had in custody. Police arrived and learned the suspect attempted to steal a few different electronic items, valued at approximately $43.00. The suspect reportedly admitted to the theft. Police arrested 22-year old Justin W. Nelson and transported him to the Pettis County Jail, where he was booked and released.
