Sedalia Police Department Crime Reports for the Evening of March 2, 2017
Sedalia Police officers took a report of a stolen recreational vehicle Wednesday morning (Mar 1). The theft allegedly occurred at Diamond B Mini Storage, located at 900 South Normandy Road. The victim stated he came to check on his RV after the hail storm the previous evening. He said the gate was open and his RV was gone. The RV is described as a light gray, 28' Cougar X Lite Travel trailer. The estimated value was placed at $32,000. There are no suspects at this time.
Around 9:15 Thursday morning (Mar 2), Sedalia Police conducted a subject check in the area of Broadway and Mildred Avenue. According to the report, the male subject was standing in the highway and was highly intoxicated. The man, 37-year-old James Arthur Burnworth, was taken to the Pettis County Jail and placed on a 12-hour protective hold.
Around 12:30 Wednesday afternoon (Mar 1), Sedalia Police conducted a subject check in the 200 block of East Walnut Avenue. The male subject had a Pettis County FTA warrant and a Sedalia FTA warrant. The man, 30-year-old Kcy Dale Curtis, was arrested and taken to the Pettis County Jail, with a total bond of $294.
Around 7:20 Thursday morning (Mar 2), officers made contact with a suspect in the area of 17th Street and Ohio Avenue, regarding a Cass County FTA warrant. The warrant was confirmed and 34-year-old Shannon M. Bates was arrested and taken to the Pettis County Jail, with a $250 bond.
On Thursday (Mar 2), officers took a report of identify theft from a woman who claimed her identity had been stolen to obtain Charter television service, in early 2016. She claimed that she now owes over $900 to Charter Communications. There were no further details listed in that report.
Around 4:30 Wednesday afternoon (Mar 1), Sedalia Police took a report of property damage Horace Mann Elementary School, located at 1100 West 16th Street. The victim stated someone had shattered the rear windshield on her vehicle. There are no suspects at this time.
Wednesday morning (Mar 1), Sedalia Police officers took a report of a burglary that had occurred in the 900 block of Westwood Avenue. The victim stated that sometime over the past 4 weeks, someone had entered her apartment and took a glass TV stand, valued at $300. There are no suspects at this time.
