UPDATE:

On Friday at approximately 9:30 a.m., the Rural Missouri Major Case Squad convened at the Sedalia Police Department, 300 W. 3rd St., to assist with two suspicious deaths at 1721 S. Harrison Ave.

Over 30 investigators from agencies around Central Missouri have gathered to investigate the death of Steven Klein, 66, of the residence and Russell Bain, 59, of Sedalia.

Both were found deceased on Thursday at approximately 10:15 a.m.

The Rural Missouri Major Case Squad can be activated for up to four days with the possibility of an extension granted by the squad if investigators need additional time.

Anyone with information surrounding the death of both individuals is asked to call (660) 221-8832 to reach the command center.


 

 

On Thursday at approximately 10:15 a.m., the Sedalia Police Department received a call in reference to a suspicious death at 1721 South Harrison Ave.

Upon arrival, officers checked the residence for victims and located two males who were deceased.

Officers and detectives are processing the scene for evidence and to determine the manner of death.

At the time of this release, the victim’s names are not being released due to identification and notification to the next of kin, according to Sedalia Police Chief Matt Wirt.
