Sedalia Police arrested 29-year-old James C. Fisher of Lee's Summit after conducting a traffic stop at Broadway and Babcock on a white Chevy truck for speeding and lane violations Friday morning just before 7 a.m. He was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, marijuana and meth, unlawful possession of a firearm and was also wanted on a Pettis County warrant for domestic assault with a $1,500 cash or surety bond. Fisher was taken to the Pettis County Jail on a 24-hour hold.

Sedalia Police responded to a disturbance in the 500 block of W. 6th on Sunday morning around 10:30 a.m. According to a report, there was a verbal argument between boyfriend and girlfriend. The male began throwing the female's belongings outside in the yard. He then smashed a wooden stool against the deck, then threw one of the legs at an officer. 21-year-old Desmond D. Carton was then arrested and taken to the Pettis County Jail, where he was charged with 4th degree assault, 3rd degree assault on a law enforcement officer, possession of drug paraphernalia and cocaine.


 

Sedalia took a hit-and-run report from Sean K. Kenny Sunday at 212 South Lamine that occurred overnight in the lot. There was damage to the rear quarter panel, door, bumper and wheel on his vehicle.


 

Sedalia took a hit-and-run report from Donna Osbourn of Sedalia on Dec. 3. Her vehicle was damaged while it was parked at WalMart, 3201 W. Broadway.


 

Sedalia Police took a hit-and-run report from Shelly L. Hicks on Dec. 2. Her vehicle was damaged while she was shopping at Walmart, 3201 W. Broadway.


 

On Dec. 7, Sedalia Police took a property damage report at 719 West Main. There was $8,000 of damage done at a shop near Main and Grand, according to a report.


 

On Dec. 6, two people reported property damage valued at $250 in the area of North State Fair Blvd., and Main Street.


 

On Sunday, Christopher Bass reported someone stole a gun from his vehicle at Inter-State Studios, 3500 Snyder Road, over the past two or three days.


 

A manager at Denny's, 2401 W. Broadway, reported the theft of $10.79 of goods from the business on Sunday morning.


 

On Dec. 6, a woman in the 1300 block of Walker reported that someone stole a package that was delivered to her home between 10:30 and 11 a.m. The package was valued at $34.94.


 

On Dec. 6, Sedalia Police conducted a prisoner transfer at the Saline County line with Marshall PD. 22-year-old Blake R. Long of KCMO was taken to the Pettis County Jail on a $100 cash bond.


 

On Dec. 6, Sedalia Police conducted a traffic stop on a Chevy Cruze for failure to stop at a stop sign at Cooper and Osage. According to a report, during the stop a passenger attempted to ingest a bag of marijuana. 35-year-old Preston Jerrell Poindexter of Sedalia was taken into custody and transported to the Pettis County Jail, where he was charged with possession of marijuana and tampering with evidence. He was booked and released.


 

On Friday just before 9 p.m., Sedalia Police took a theft report at 701 South Ohio. According to police, the owner of a vehicle saw a white male inside his truck. He confronted the suspect, who then ran from the scene. A pistol was later found on the ground near 7th and Lamine. The pistol was recovered and returned to its owner.


 

On Dec. 3, a manager at Casey's General Store, 3050 South Limit, reported that a total of $500 in Missouri Lottery tickets were stolen by two employees. The theft occurred on Nov. 30 and Dec. 1, according to a report. There is security video of the crime, it was noted. One suspect has been contacted, while the other was evading police. Charges were submitted on both subjects.


 

On Nov. 27, a woman reported the theft of $173.95 of items from the 1800 block of E. 14th.
