On Wednesday at 8:24 p.m., Sedalia Police conducted a traffic stop on a white Jeep SUV at 5th and State Fair Blvd., for expired plates. A computer check revealed that the driver was suspended. 23-year-old Cruz Escobar of Sedalia, was taken into custody and transported to the SPD, where he was processed and released with a court date of Feb. 22.


 

Sedalia Police took a report of domestic assault at Holiday Inn, 4001 West Broadway, at 9:30 p.m. Wednesday. According to the report, the victim stated that the suspect assaulted her, then left the hotel. The suspect could not be located. Charges were requested through the Pettis County Prosecutor's Office.


 

Sedalia Police took a report of child abuse in the lobby of the SPD on Wednesday night. The report stated that their child was physically assaulted by a step parent.


 

On Tuesday, Sedalia Police conducted a traffic stop at 15th and Grand. The driver, later identified as 19-year-old Maria Del Carmen Reyes-Romero of Sedalia, did not have a driver's license in her possession and could not be properly ID's on scene. She was taken to the SPD, where she was arrested and booked.


 

Sedalia Police responded to a disturbance in the 1100 block of West 7th at 11:06 a.m. Wednesday. A computer check of one of the parties indicated that they had an active warrant out of Pettis County for non-payment of child support. The warrant was later confirmed and 41-year-old Bobby Don Johnson of Sedalia was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail. His bond was set at $1,500 cash.


 

Sedalia Police responded to the 1500 block of West 9th on a domestic disturbance at 10 a.m. Wednesday. An argument turned physical, according to a report. The incident was documented in a 12-hour log.
