Sedalia Police reports 2-22-18
On Wednesday morning, Sedalia Police arrested 20-year-old Melvin E. Osburn of Sedalia in the 100 block of E. 13th on a Benton County warrant after an officer responded to the area on an animal complaint call. Osburn was taken into custody and transported to the Pettis County Jail on a $500 cash bond, with a March 20 court date.
On Monday at 4:53 a.m., Sedalia Police arrested 26-year-old Alexander Scott Hoose of Sedalia at 4th and Quincy after conducting a traffic stop on a red Chevy Silverado with a license plate light out. A computer check revealed that Hoose was driving without a valid license. He was then placed under arrest and a subsequent search revealed a bag of meth. Hoose was transported to the Pettis County Jail, where he was booked and released.
Sedalia Police took a theft report from a resident in the 1200 block of W. 5th on Wednesday. A total of $1800 cash was taken from the residence, according to the report. There were no signs of forced entry and there are no suspects.
On Wednesday, a resident turned in a black and brown purse that was found in the 1700 block of S. Park. Efforts to contact the owner by police were unsuccessful.
