Early Tuesday morning, Officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle they observed driving erratically on South Washington Avenue and East 24th Street. During the course of the investigation, it was determined the driver was intoxicated and also had a revoked driving status. The suspect was also found to be in possession of marijuana. Brandon S. Wells 42, of Sedalia, was transported to the Bothwell Regional Health Center for a blood draw. Wells was then transported to the Pettis County Jail, where he was booked and released. A request for the charges of Driving While Intoxicated (Aggravated Offender), Driving While Revoked, and Possession of Marijuana have been submitted to the prosecutor.


 

Tuesday afternoon, Officers were dispatched to the Police Station lobby for a report of a domestic assault that had taken place in the 500 block of North Grand Avenue. Officers met with the victim, who stated that her girlfriend had assaulted her earlier in the day. The victim had several bruises on her face. Charges of Domestic Assault in the 3rd Degree are being sought.


 

Officers were dispatched to a disturbance in the 1600 block of South Vermont Avenue Tuesday evening. The disturbance was over by the time Officers arrived. During the course of the investigation, it was discovered that a firearm had been discharged into the air during the altercation. A request for the charge of Unlawful Use of a Weapon has been submitted to the prosecutor. No arrests have been made at this time.


 

Early Sunday morning, Officers conducted a traffic stop on West Broadway Boulevard near Industrial Drive on a truck that was not properly displaying registration plates. During the course of the investigation, it was determined the driver was intoxicated.  The driver also had a revoked driving status. Juan Manuel Arroyo Cardenas, 28, of La Monte, was arrested and transported to the Sedalia Police Department.  Cardenas provided a breath sample that showed his BAC above 0.08.  Cardenas was transported to the Pettis County Jail, where he was booked and released.  A request for the charges of Driving While Intoxicated and Driving While Revoked have been submitted to the prosecutor.


 

Late Tuesday night, a subject came into the lobby of the Police Department to give a statement on an ongoing investigation. It was discovered the subject had an outstanding warrant from the City of Sedalia. Matias A. Hernandez, 35, of Sedalia, was arrested on his Failure to Appear warrant on original charges of Operating a Motor Vehicle Without Maintaining Financial Responsibility.  Hernandez was transported to the Pettis County jail to be booked on the warrant with a $60 cash only bond.


 

Tuesday morning, Officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of East 13th Street and South Brown Avenue for a registration violation.  An occupant of the vehicle was found to have a Saline County warrant for felony Driving While Revoked.  Upon arrest, they were found to be in possession of suspected methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.  Upon transport to the jail, they were found to have more suspected methamphetamine on their person. Russel W. Kelso, 50, of Malta Bend, was placed on a 24 hour hold pending formal charges of Possession of a Dangerous Drug, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Delivery/Concealment of a Controlled Substance into a County  Jail, as well as the warrant.


 

Tuesday night, Officers responded to the US Bank, 2101 West Broadway Boulevard to take a general information report. There was no further information in the report.


 

Sedalia Police were dispatched to a residence in the 1200 block of South Osage Avenue Monday afternoon for a report of theft.  An unknown suspect contacted Freddie Jones and asked to be sent $100 in gift cards.  Jones complied.  Jones was willing to pursue charges.


 

Officers responded to the Katy Motors, 4211 South Limit Avenue Tuesday afternoon in reference to a theft.  Upon arrival, Officers met with the owner.  The owner stated that sometime over the weekend, someone damaged the ignition of a vehicle on the lot and then cut the catalytic converter off.  At the time of the report, a suspect has not been identified.


 

Tuesday afternoon, Officers initiated a traffic stop on a truck near South  Missouri Avenue and West 7th Street after recognizing the driver as a subject with a revoked license.  A check through Dispatch confirmed the driver's operator's status was revoked. Bobby Dee Huffman, 55, of Sedalia, was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail, where he was booked. A state charge of Driving While Revoked will be sent to the Pettis County Prosecutor's Office.
