Sedalia Police took a theft report on Wednesday from a man who said his blue 2005 Dodge caravan was parked in the driveway in the 500 block of Sunset Drive. The keys were in the vehicle. The victim said he looked outside after hearing his van start up and saw the Dodge going south on Sunset towards Broadway. The Caravan was later located in the 400 block of Buckner Court. 21-year-old Blake R. Long was taken into custody and transported to the Pettis County Jail where he was held for 24 hours and charged with stealing a motor vehicle.
On Monday afternoon, Sedalia Police took a report from a woman who said someone cashed a check in her name, forging her signature on Jan. 22. The suspect may be known to the victim, the report stated.
Sedalia Police took an assault report from a woman on Tuesday. According to the report, the woman was assaulted by two suspects near 2nd and Washington after an incident of road rage, then fled the area. Investigation is under way.
Sedalia Police took a hit-and-run report at the Ron Bush Agency, 623 E. 10th, on Monday. The victim reported his 2006 Lexus was struck while parked on South Thompson Avenue, causing damage to the driver's door. A witness provided a description of the suspect vehicle to police.
A woman reported a hit-and-run to police on Tuesday afternoon in the 800 block of Mitchell Road. The report said a red vehicle struck the outside of her apartment, then drove away. According to the owner of the building, the structure had $2,000 in damage. No suspects have yet been identified.
On Tuesday, a woman said someone struck her vehicle, then drove off from the 1200 block of W. 11th. The report said the victim may know where the suspect lives.
