Sedalia Police Reports for January 4, 2020
Sedalia Police followed an ATV 4-wheeler that was observed driving on East Broadway around 1:20 a.m. Thursday. According to a report, Officer Cook followed the ATV, which turned south on Montgomery, then west into an alley. Contact with the ATV was lost around 10th and Thompson Avenue.
On Thursday, a man reported the theft of a license plate and clothing from his vehicle which was parked in the 700 block of South Ohio on New Year's Day. The items were valued at $64. There are no suspects.
On Thursday afternoon after 3 p.m., Snap Fitness 20, 711 E. Broadway, reported a trespassing at the business. A man was sleeping inside without authorization. When he left the area, he also left his wallet behind. The wallet was placed into evidence. Attempts to contact him were unsuccessful.
On Thursday, Sedalia Police conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle with no plates. It was discovered that the driver, 24-year-old Jubyris M. Jordan of Sedalia, did not have a driver's license, either. He was placed into custody and taken to the Pettis County Jail, where he was booked and released.
On Thursday morning just after 8 a.m., Sedalia Police conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle at 3rd and Washington. It was discovered that the driver, 36-year-old Darnell Johnson of Sedalia, was operating a motor vehicle without a valid license. Johnson was taken nto custody and transported to the Pettis County Jail.
Sedalia Police conducted a traffic stop in the 1600 block of W. 7th on Thursday morning at 10:23 on a silver Dodge Caravan for improper registration. It was discovered that the driver, 38-year-old Susan D. McNeal of Sedalia, was driving while revoked. She was taken into custody and transported to the SPD, where she was fingerprinted and released with a court summons for Feb. 12.
On Thursday, Darin Dicus, representing Lexicon Inc., reported the theft of $17,000 worth of equipment from a building located at 500 Rebar Drive. The theft occurred sometime within the past month. There are no suspects.
On Thursday, A man reported the theft of $70 of items from the 400 block of W. Pettis. The theft occurred between 5:15 and 5:30 p.m., the report noted. Charges are being requested.
Sedalia Police responded to a call of gun shots in the 400 block of E. Broadway on Thursday around 11:30 p.m. According to a report, a woman followed a subject across town and somewhere between Broadway and Massachusetts and Broadway and Engineer, the subject fired shots at her vehicle. There were no reports of injuries or property damage.
