Sedalia Police arrested 40-year-old Shawn J. Roberts of Sedalia and placed him into protective custody after responding to a call Wednesday at 7:34 p.m. at Casey's, 716 W. 16th, where an intoxicated male was harassing employees and assaulting customers. Roberts was taken to Bothwell Regional Health Center where he assaulted a nurse, then on to the Pettis County Jail for 12 hours until he was sober.
Sedalia Police arrested 18-year-old David Karpenchuk of Pettis County on Wednesday night at 11:13 p.m. near 11th and Summit after conducting a traffic stop. A probable cause search led to the discovery of drug paraphernalia. Karpenchuk was released with a court summons.
On Wednesday at 1217 South Limit, Sedalia Police conducted a warrant check and arrested 36-year-old Rhonda Marie Swafford of Independence on an FTA Saline County warrant with a $250 cash or surety bond, and 38-year-old Michael Vincent Frain, III, of Independence on two FTA Municipal warrants with a $500 cash bond. Both were taken to the Pettis County Jail.
Sedalia Police arrested 32-year-old Kevin Henry Lee at 10th and Merriam after conducting a traffic stop at 10:44 a.m. Wednesday. Lee was wanted on a Pettis County warrant for a conservation offense. He was taken to the Pettis County Jail on a $5,000 cash or surety bond.
On Wednesday at 6:30 p.m., Sedalia Police responded to a call of a dog bite in the 2100 block of E. 7th. According to the report, the dog was aggressive to the caller, and then ran around a fence and charged at the officer, who then discharged his weapon, striking the dog, which lives in the 2400 block of E. Broadway.
Sedalia Police arrested 44-year-old Modina Marie Bradshaw in the 1100 block of Harding on Thursday at 5 p.m. According to a report, she allegedly assaulted the victims, then threatened them with a knife. Bradshaw was taken to the Pettis County Jail and charged with unlawful use of a weapon, 3rd degree domestic assault, 4th degree domestic assault and 2nd degree property damage.
Sedalia Police took a property damage report from a woman who said her driver's side window was broken on her vehicle in the 900 block of W. 3rd on Thursday morning.
