Sedalia Teen Arrested for Statutory Rape

Sedalia Police responded to Scott Joplin Court on a sexual assault complaint at 12:11 a.m. Oct. 13.

The caller named a suspect in reference to his daughter's assault and officers went to the 500 block of E. 4th and arrested 18-year-old Alex Charles Matz. Matz was charged with statutory rape.

A computer check also revealed he was wanted on a Pettis County warrant for property damage. Matz was taken to the Pettis County Jail on a $250 bond for the warrant, and a 24-hour hold for 1st degree rape.
