Wednesday morning, Sedalia Police conducted a warrant check in the 1800 block of South Warren Avenue.

Information was given that a female subject was inside who had an active Benton County warrant for Failure to Appear on original charges of Possession of a Controlled Substance, Resisting Arrest, Possession of Marijuana, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

The suspect came down the stairs and began talking to the Officer. The suspect then ran back up the stairs into a bedroom, locking the door behind her.

Officers had to force entry into the bedroom. As Officers made entry to the house, the suspect was trying to open a window on the second story to get onto the roof.

The suspect was given verbal commands and taken into custody at Taser Point a short time later.

The Benton County warrant was confirmed with no bond. Samantha K. Dobnikar, 30, of Sedalia, was placed on a 24-hour hold pending state charges of Resisting Arrest.

Dobnikar was booked into the Benton County Jail on Friday at 9:30 a.m. with no bond.
