Seven people were injured in a four-car collision that occurred Monday afternoon in Benton County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that an eastbound 2010 GMC Acadia, driven by 52-year-old Roberta A. Everhart of Edwards, was at Routes M and V around 2:20 p.m., when the driver turned into the path of a southbound 2000 Dodge Durango, driven by 28-year-old Kindra L. Elliot of Warsaw. Elliot attempted to avoid striking the GMC by traveling across the center line, but the two vehicles collided.

After impact, the Durango struck a northbound 1998 Dodge Ram 1500, which was stationary, The Acadia struck a northbound 2002 GMC Sierra, which was also stationary.

Everhart suffered moderate injuries, and was transported by Warsaw-Lincoln Ambulance to Bothwell Regional Health Center for treatment. Her passenger, 38-year-old Samuel E. Campbell of Edwards, suffered minor injuries and was also taken to Bothwell.

Elliot and five of her passengers suffered minor injuries, including two young juveniles from Warsaw. All but one of the passengers were transported to Golden Valley Hospital in Clinton. 31-year-old Shayna M. Smith of Edwards, refused treatment on scene.

Benton County Deputies and Deer Creek Fire assisted the Troopers on scene.
