Seven people were injured, six of them seriously, in a four-car pile-up that occurred on Highway 50 in Johnson County Sunday evening.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that a 2014 Ford Fusion, driven by 30-year-old Alexis M. Zook of Whiteman Air Force Base, was traveling west in the eastbound lanes of Highway 50 just before 7 p.m., (just west of Route P in the curve near Montserrat) when the Fusion struck an eastbound 2012 Jeep Renegade, driven by 32-year-old Holly L. Lancaster of Knob Noster, head on.

The Jeep then spun out, into the right lane, causing an eastbound 2017 Chevy Cruze driven by 35-year-old Cody J. Taylor of Sedalia, to strike the passenger side of the Jeep.

An eastbound 2018 Nissan Altima, driven by 38-year-old Bettie I. Fisher of Carrollton, then struck debris in the roadway.

Taylor suffered moderate injuries. Her passenger, 35-year-old Brittney Teal, also of Sedalia, suffered serious injuries. Both were transported to Western Missouri Medical Center by JCAD for treatment.

Holly Lancaster and Alexis Zook suffered serious injuries and were flown to Research Medical Center by Life Flight.

35-year-old Guss Lancaster of Knob Noster, a passenger in the Jeep, suffered serious injuries and was transported to Research Medical Center by JCAD.

A one-year-old male from Whiteman AFB in the Ford, and a one-year-old male from Knob in the Jeep, suffered serious injuries. Both were transported to Chidren's Mercy Hospital by JCAD.

The Nissan had moderate damage, while the Ford, Jeep and Chevy were totaled and towed by Tip Top Towing.

Johnson County Deputies and Warrensburg Police assisted the eight Troopers and one Park Ranger on scene.

Zook, who is listed in an arrest report as being from Grand Island, Nebraska, was arrested at 7:21 p.m. She now faces charges of felony driving while intoxicated, felony child endangerment, driving the wrong way on a divided highway causing a crash, and careless and imprudent driving resulting in a crash. Zook was released for medical treatment.
