A seven-year-old girl was injured in a two-car crash that occurred in Pettis County on Sunday.

The MSHP reports that an eastbound 2000 Nissan Frontier driven by 25-year-old Brandon M. Opfer of La Monte was traveling on the wrong side of the highway on Oak Point Road, two tenths of a mile east of Missouri 127 at 5:08 p.m., when a westbound 1998 Chevy Malibu driven by 17-year-old Gavin T. Elliot of La Monte was struck by the Nissan.

A seven-year-old female juvenile suffered minor injuries and was taken to Bothwell Regional Health Center for treatment.

The Nissan had moderate damage, while the Malibu was totaled.

Pettis County deputies assisted the Patrol at the scene.

Opfer was later arrested by the MSHP at 6:08 p.m. and charged with felony DWI, failure to drive on the right half of the roadway and displaying the license plates of another vehicle.
