On Saturday night, Sedalia Police observed a passenger car traveling at a high rate of speed on West Broadway Boulevard.

As Officers attempted to catch up to the vehicle, it was weaving through traffic. Officers conducted a traffic stop at West Broadway Boulevard and South Moniteau Avenue.

During the course of the investigation, it was determined the driver was intoxicated. It was also discovered the subject had four Failure to Appear warrants out of Pettis County and the City of Sedalia.

Michael Torres Alejo, 23, of Sedalia, was arrested and provided a breath sample that showed his BAC to be above 0.08. Torres Alejo was transported to the Pettis County Jail to be booked on his Failure to Appear warrants on original charges of No Operator's License, two counts of Driving While Suspended, Operating a Motor Vehicle Without Maintaining Financial Responsibility, and Speeding (16-19 MPH).

Alejo also faces new charges of Driving While Intoxicated, Driving While Suspended, Careless Driving and Speeding.

The warrants had a total bond amount of $800.
