Stover Motorcyclist Injured in Morgan County Crash

A Stover man was injured in a two-vehicle accident that occurred Tuesday evening in Morgan County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that a westbound 2001 Yamaha R1 motorcycle, driven by 21-year-old Zachary E. Simmons of Stover, was on Missouri 52 at Missouri 135 around 6:20 p.m., when a 2004 Chevy Silverado turned from 135 onto eastbound 52. Simmons failed to yield and struck the rear of the Silverado's towed unit.

Simmons suffered moderate injuries and was flown by MU Air to University Hospital in Columbia for treatment.

The Chevy had minor damage, while the Yamaha was totaled and towed from the scene.
