Three people were injured in a two-vehicle accident that occurred Wednesday morning in Lafayette County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that a northbound 1997 Chevy Silverado, driven by a 16-year-old boy from Pleasant Hill, was on Missouri 23, south of Goodwin Road (near Alma) just before 10:45 a.m., when the vehicle crossed the center line and struck a southbound 2001 Ford Ranger, driven by 21-year-old Matthew E. Toder of La Monte, head-on.

The driver of the Chevy suffered serious injuries, and was flown to Research Medical Center in Kansas City for treatment, while his 16-year-old male passenger suffered moderate injuries, and was transported to Western Missouri Medical Center in Warrensburg.

Toder suffered moderate injuries, and was also transported to Western Missouri Medical Center.

None of the three were wearing a seat belt, according to the report.

Both vehicles were totaled and towed by Meyer Motors of Concordia.

Lafayette Deputies assisted the Troopers on scene.
