Two Arrested in Sedalia in Heroin Trafficking Operation

On Dec. 9, the Pettis County Sheriff's Office and the Mid-Missouri Drug Task Force ended a multi-month investigation into heroin trafficking from St. Louis to Sedalia.

The investigation came to an end when Pettis County Deputies conducted a traffic stop in the 3400 block of West Broadway.

During the stop, the driver of the vehicle was identified as Tyrone Davis of Florissant, and the front seat passenger was identified as Chelsi M. Griffin of St. Louis.

During the stop, deputies and drug task force members were assisted by Sedalia Police, Missouri State Highway Patrol and the Moniteau County Sheriff's Office's K9 Unit.

A large amount of heroin and cocaine were located during the stop, as well as Fentanyl and Xannax.

The vehicle that Davis was driving, a 2002 Mercedes 500, was seized, as well as $530 in cash.

The Mid-Missouri Drug Task Force filed a forfeiture on the car and the cash.

Davis, 51, was charged with 2nd Degree Trafficking, Possession of a Controlled Substance and Possession With Intent to Deliver.

Griffin, 32, was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance.

The Mid-Missouri Drug Task Force and the Pettis County Sheriff's Office thanked the MSHP, the Sedalia Police Department and the Moniteau County Sheriff's Office for the support in the investigation. They will continue to work together in future investigations.
