Two Injured in Cole County Wreck

Two people were injured in a two-vehicle accident that occurred Thursday afternoon in Cole County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that a westbound 2006 Honda Pilot, driven by 24-year-old Aubrey D. Sluyter of Jefferson City, was on Route C, at Route V, when he turned left in front of an eastbound 2013 Honda Accord, driven by 73-year-old Joyce D. Dearixson of California, Mo., at 12:48 p.m.

Sluyter suffered minor injuries, and was transported by private vehicle to St. Mary's Hospital, while Dearixon suffered serious injuries, and was transported to University Hospital by Cole County EMS.

Neither driver was wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident.
