Two Sedalia Women Arrested on Multiple Charges
On Tuesday evening, Sedalia Police conducted a traffic stop in the area of West Main Street and South Prospect Avenue for speeding.
The driver and occupant were identified and both were arrested on outstanding warrants, possession of marijuana, and identity theft. They were transported to the Pettis County Jail, where an additional charge of introduction of contraband into a jail facility was applied.
Cheyenne Sahara Dawn Smith, 24, of Sedalia, had a Failure to Appear warrant on original charges of Possession of Marijuana, Speeding, and Failure to Wear a Seat Belt, charges of Possession of Marijuana, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Possession of a Controlled Substance in a County Jail.
Kayla Elizabeth Demshick, 25, of Sedalia, had a Failure to Appear warrant on original charges of Red Light Violation and Operating a Motor Vehicle on the Highway Without a License, charges of Possession of Marijuana, and Identity Theft. Both Smith and Demshick were booked on their warrants and new charges.
