Versailles Motorcycle Rider Killed in Camden County Crash
A Versailles man was killed in a two-vehicle accident that occurred Wednesday evening in Camden County.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, a westbound 1989 Honda CBR 600 was traveling too fast for the conditions on Route MM, one-quarter mile east of Henderson Drive at 7:15 p.m., when the motorcycle rider failed to negotiate a curve and overturned. The Honda then crossed the center line and struck an eastbound 2005 Chevy Silverado, driven by 64-year-old Wesley E. Enlow of Sunrise Beach.
19-year-old Andrew W. McCarty of Versailles was pronounced dead at 8:18 p.m. at Lake Regional Hospital by Dr. Angela Clay.
The motorcycle was totaled.
Camden County deputies assisted the four Troopers at the scene.
