A Warrensburg man suffered moderate injuries in a one-car crash in Johnson County early this morning.

According to the MSHP, 19-year-old Tristen T. McLain was the driver of an eastbound 1997 Chevy truck on West Pine Street and Warren in Warrensburg at 2:43 a.m. when he attempted to make a right turn, skidded and left the roadway, striking a utility pole. McLain was reportedly fleeing from officers, who had their emergency sirens and lights activated at the time of the crash.

McLain was not wearing a safety device at the time, and he was transported to Western Missouri Medical Center for treatment and later transferred to St. Luke's Plaza and then released.

The Chevy was totaled and towed from the scene.

McLain was arrested charged with felony resisting arrest, felony tampering with a motor vehicle, two counts of felony possession of a controlled substance (meth and hydrocodone), failure to signal, failure to drive on the right side of the roadway, failure to stop at a stop sign, failure to yield to an emergency vehicle, speeding, C & I driving causing an accident, and leaving the scene of an accident.

The three troopers were assisted by Warrensburg Police.
