Warrensburg Man Injured in Rollover Wreck in Johnson County

A Warrensburg man was injured in a rollover accident that occurred in Johnson County Monday afternoon.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that 64-year-old David L. Benwell was the driver of an eastbound 2018 Toyota on Missouri 58, west of SW 1081st Road at 2:51 p.m., when he traveled onto the right shoulder, returned and crossed the center line, then ran off the south side of the roadway, struck a ditch and overturned.

Benwell suffered serious injuries and was transported to Research Medical Center by Life Flight. He was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash, the report said.

The Toyota was totaled.
