Warsaw Woman Injured As She Exits Vehicle

A Warsaw woman was injured in a one-vehicle accident that occurred Monday afternoon in Benton County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that 62-year-old Joyce D. Cardwell of Warsaw, was at 21577 Lost Valley Road around 2:20 p.m., when she began to exit her 2017 Ford Escape, which was still in reverse. The vehicle began traveling backwards and the door struck Cardwell. The Ford and its driver then traveled off Lost Valley Road.

Cardwell suffered moderate injuries, and was transported to Bothwell Regional Health Center by Warsaw-Lincoln Ambulance for treatment.

The Escape had minor damage and was towed from the scene.

Benton County Deputies assisted the Patrol.
