Sedalia woman arrested on a Johnson County warrant Wednesday night

Around 8:26 Wednesday night Sedalia police responded to a report of a subject with Johnson County  warrant for a drug offence in the 500 block of East 10th. Upon arrival the officers located the suspect 25-year-old Ciera Catherine Pierce of Sedalia. Following confirmation of the warrant Pierce was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail pending a $10,000 cash only bond on the warrant for possession of a controlled substance.

24-year-old homeless woman arrested at Dollar General Wednesday afternoon

According to a Sedalia police report officers responded to a theft complaint at the Dollar General at 713 East Broadway. Upon arrival the complainant reported a suspect had placed items in their pockets, and left without paying for them. The police report states during the investigation of the theft officers talked to a woman about a disturbance between her and another subject. A routine check on the woman identified as 24-year-old Shelia Renea Swope a homeless person revealed she had a warrant out of Pettis County for a probation violation. At the time of the police report Swope was in the Pettis County jail pending a $2000 cash only bond, and a $2500 cash or surety bond on the warrant.

Man taken into protective custody Wednesday night was reportedly highly intoxicated

Just before 9pm Wednesday night Sedalia Police received a call on an intoxicated subject causing a disturbance. The police report states the man identified as 27-year-old Dorion Laken Johnson could not give the officers his address due to the intoxication, and was taken into 12-hour protective custody.

Thefts reported to the Sedalia Police

Around 6:25 Saturday evening a female victim reported her .380 Red Cobra handgun was stolen from her vehicle earlier in the day, while the vehicle was parked at Liberty Park. The value of the gun was placed at $320.

Just after mid-night this (Thursday) morning the Sedalia Police responded to the Eagle Stop at 2600 East Broadway.  Upon arrival the officers found the front window was broken out, and someone had entered the business. The police report states before they left the thieves took four lottery tickets valued at $80. There was no information on a suspect at news time.

On Saturday the Casey’s at 3050 South Limit reported a gas drive off of $3.56.
