Driver of Stolen Car Arrested After Foot Chase

On Monday afternoon around 1:44 p.m., Sedalia Police received two calls about a careless driver southbound on Limit entering the city limits.

Officer Silvey located the vehicle in the parking lot of Rush Hour, 1320 South Limit. A computer check revealed the vehicle was stolen out of Columbia.

As the officer attempted to make contact with the driver, the driver fled on foot. The suspect was subsequently apprehended a few blocks away in the backyard of a house on New England Drive.

23-year-old Heath A. Thalgott was taken into custody and transported to the Pettis County Jail on a 24-hour hold for tampering with a motor vehicle and resisting arrest.
