Felon Arrested at Sedalia Motel
On Wednesday morning, Sedalia Police responded to Sunset Motel, 3615 South Limit Avenue, for a suspicious person.
Contact was made with the business owner.
A subject staying in a room came to the front desk of the motel, asking to purchase a gun case.
The subject then left the area, leaving the door to his motel room open.
The business owner observed a large amount of cash in the room, and a firearm.
The subject was known to be a felon by police. A search warrant of the room was then obtained.
A search of the room revealed a firearm, drug paraphernalia, a digital scale, and a large amount of cash.
Trenten B. Leary, 20, of Sedalia, was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail. Leary was placed on a 24-hour hold, pending charges of Unlawful Possession of a Concealable Weapon By a Felon, Distribution of a Controlled Substance, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
