A Holden man was arrested June 19 after deputies with the Johnson County Sheriff's Office received a report of a man driving westbound in the eastbound lanes of NW 50 Hwy.

The Johnson County Sheriff's Office says in a Facebook post that multiple calls came in around 8:40 p.m. of a red Ford Explorer traveling at highway speeds in the passing lane, and almost striking other vehicles head-on.

A deputy located the vehicle in the 100 block of NW 131 Hwy and made contact with the driver, identified as 51-year-old Jon Bennett of Holden. A two-year-old child was reportedly found in the backseat of the vehicle. Bennett was arrested for driving while intoxicated (persistent offender) and endangering the welfare of a child.
