Sacred Heart was defeated 5-0 by district opponent St. Paul’s in the first round of the Clinton Tournament.

Sacred Heart conceded an early goal on a corner kick in the 12 minute of the game. St. Paul’s quickly added to their total with a rebound off a corner kick that was buried into the upper 90 from the top of the box.

Sacred Heart began the second half with a sense of urgency but then conceded two own goals to make the deficit 4-0. St. Paul’s then took advantage a SH possession lost in the middle of the field and scored the fifth and final goal of the night.

Sacred Heart will play tournament hosts Clinton on Thursday night at 6:45.
