SH Gremlins Pitches Well, But Can't Find Enough Runs in Loss to Stover

Both teams were strong in the circle on Saturday, but Stover was just a little bit stronger at the plate in a victory over Sacred Heart. Miranda Belles started the game for the Lady Gremlins and recorded 18 outs.

SH evened things up at two in the top of the sixth inning when Summer Caton grounded into a double play, scoring one run.

Jackson led things off on the rubber for Stover. She lasted seven innings, allowing three hits and two runs while striking out seven.

Belles went 2-for-2 at the plate to lead SH in hits. Hayden Altena had 8 chances in the field, the most on the team. Emily McDonald led the Lady Gremlins with two of the five stolen bases on the day.

Belles Throws Shutout vs. Otterville

Miranda Belles didn't allow a single run against Otterville, throwing a complete game shutout, leading the Sacred Heart Gremlins to a 15-0 victory on Saturday. Belles allowed two hits, and zero runs over three innings, striking out five and walking one.

SH secured the victory thanks to 9 runs in the third inning. Veronica Vanegas, Belles, Hayden Altena, Claire Smeltzer, and Emily McDonald all contributed in the big inning with RBIs.

SH racked up seven hits on the day. Smeltzer and Belles collected two hits each with Smeltzer hitting one deep for an in the park grand slam. Altena led SH with three of nine stolen bases on the day.
