Sacred Heart fell to the Smithton Tigers 22-7 Monday night at Sweet Springs in the first round of Class 1, District 15 action, ending their season with a 3-12 record.

The Gremlins came out firing offensively in the first and second inning with hits from Hayden Altena, Blaise Wilt, Miranda Belles, Veronica Vanegas, Emily McDonald, Summer Caton and Claire Smeltzer. Smeltzer and Alyssa Perez were both able to reach base after being hit by a pitch.

Every Gremlin in the line up made it on base in the game with only one strikeout. After an inning and a half the Lady Grems held a 7-5 lead.

Blaise Wilt went 2-for-2 at the plate with 4 RBIs and 2 stolen bases to lead the Gremlins offensively. Hayden Altena went 3-for-3, driving in one RBI. Hayden Altena and Claire Smeltzer were the defensive stars of the game both making great plays at 1st base and Center Field.
