Just after 2:30 Thursday morning (June 16), Sedalia Police responded to the 200 block of West Smith Street, in Smithton, to assist a Pettis County deputy, who was not responding to his radio. Upon arrival, the deputy stated that while he was attempting to arrest a man, that suspect began to fight. During the altercation, the deputy was struck in the mouth and sustained minor injuries. The male suspect was eventually subdued and taken into custody. No names were listed in that report.

 

 

Around 8:30 in the morning on June 12th, Sedalia Police officers took a report of theft in the 500 block of South Quincy Avenue. Six fishing rods had been stolen. The fishing rods had a combined value of $1,100.00. There are no suspects at this time.
