Just after midnight this morning (Aug. 20), the Sedalia Police Department’s STING unit, patrol officers and a Pettis County Deputy served a drug related search warrant at 906 East 5th St. Upon arrival, officers located a male and female who were detained. A juvenile was also located in the residence according to the press release.

A search of the male revealed he was in possession of individually packaged baggies of methamphetamine. Officers also located more packaged baggies of meth in the residence, which were accessible to the juvenile. There was also packaging material located in the residence, and more meth was located underneath a shed in the back yard. Approximately $6,892 was located in the residence, which the press release states is believed to be profits of drug sales.

Arrested at the scene was 48-year-old Jesus Rivas. He was taken to the Pettis County jail on charges of possession of a controlled substance, distribution of a controlled substance near a school, manufacture of a controlled substance and 1st degree endangering the welfare.
